Hollingdean Parking

Black BMW 5 Series

  • Residents of Upper Hollingdean Road report that this black BMW appeared on their street in January 2024, which coincided with the expiry date on the resident's permit still displayed in the vehicle's windscreen.

  • This is a vehicle from the adjoining Zone J. It is fair to assume that the owner has simply decided not to renew their permit, instead leaving their (very large) vehicle in Hollingdean instead.

  • The car very rarely moves from one week to the next and - in fact - has only been seen to move twice in the past three months.

  • The use of Hollingdean for 'free' parking by non-residents in this fashion causes significant stress and issues for local residents, who are left unable to park near to their own homes.

  • Our residents are also left to deal with the increased noise, pollution, and traffic that is caused by the increased numbers of vehicles travelling to and through the area on the search for 'free' parking. Finally, cars like this, which do not move at all regularly, cause further street congestion and issues. Residents do not like to feel like their streets are being used as a place for non-residents to dump and/or store their vehicles at their expense.
