Hollingdean Parking

White Ford Transit Connect

  • YS18 XSM is another vehicle which was mentioned repeatedly in the survey of Hollingdean residents.

  • This van is reported to use the West edge of Hollingdean around Hollingbury Crescent and Stanmer Park Road exclusively; often leaving for the day and then returning in the evenings. Rarely moving over weekends or holidays.

  • Belonging to a local bathroom company, it is understood that several different people drive this van, none of whom were Hollingdean residents. It seems likely that Aqualisa simply uses Hollingdean as a place to store their local team's vehicle.

  • This type of 'use' of Hollingdean unnecessarily adds additional parking pressure to an already overly-congested area, reducing or removing any ability for residents to park their own vehicles.

  • In addition, this van has often been seen parking very inconsiderately or illegally: frequently left over a weekend parked entirely on the pavement against double-yellow lines at the junction at the bottom of Stanmer Park Road. Also frequently reported as being left in a neighbour's disabled bay, or across another neighbour's driveway.
