Hollingdean Parking

Silver Ford Fiesta

  • Residents report that this vehicle arrived in Hollingdean at the start of February - at the same time as the parking permit for Zone H displayed in the windscreen expired, and has not moved since.

  • This is a classic case of displaced parking (and something which Hollingdean suffers greatly due to).

  • Displaced parking is where a vehicle owner from an altogether different area of the city (and in this case, distant - this vehicle belongs to a resident of Kemp Town) decides to park their car for 'free' in Hollingdean rather than either obtain or renew their parking permit for the area in which they live.

  • There is never a valid excuse for this behaviour. For the benefit of doubt, residents also report that the owner is a known non-resident, rather than somebody who might have otherwise recently moved to the area.

  • This is particularly problematic for Hollingdean residents as these are inevitably also cars which do not move often; often spending weeks or months entirely unmoved, blocking what little space would (and should) otherwise be available to the residents of Hollingdean.
