Hollingdean Parking

Red Citroen C1

  • This Citroen is one of many, many, many non-resident vehicles that have been displaced into Hollingdean by selfish owners who prefer to store their vehicles here, rather than obtain or renew their own residential permit, for the area in which they live.

  • This particular vehicle still displays an expired Zone F permit in the windscreen, suggesting that the owner lives within the Fiveways area.

  • This Citroen has been mentioned numerous times by different residents, all of whom mention the fact that this vehicle, in particular, does not appear to move regularly. At the time of publishing it had been left, unmoved, at the bottom of Stanmer Park Road for at least eight weeks. Prior to that it had been noted as parked on Hollingbury Crescent for a further two months.

  • Non-residents using Hollingdean for 'free' parking in this fashion is a particular problem for those residents living in the Southern and Westernmost areas of Hollingdean where they directly abut neighbouring resident parking zones. This adds massive additional congestion, traffic, and pollution to an already very-populated area of (predominately) terraced housing.

  • It is clear that this vehicle owner, along with many others, prefer to dump their vehicle here, rather than take responsibility for their vehicle and where they live by paying for a permit (for this particular vehicle: less than £120 for the year).
